Winter Wildlife Tracking (on Tour Skis / Snow Shoes)

5 Days

Embark on a captivating 4 to 5-day hiking and tour skiing adventure through the untamed landscapes of the Central Apennines, where nature’s wonders come to life. Immerse yourself in the extraordinary social realm of the elusive Marsican Brown Bear, the mystical Appenine wolves, graceful deer, and other fascinating wildlife. This journey invites you to follow in their footsteps within several Abruzzo Wildlife Parks, forging a deep connection as you spend nights surrounded by their natural habitats.

Delve into the allure of European predators, the Wolves, and Bears, which have ignited human imagination since ancient times. These predators, marked by their extraordinary intelligence and adaptability, traverse vast distances, thrive in harsh environments, and persist with minimal resources. Witness the resilience of a species, as less than 100 wolves and 30 bears in the central-southern Apennine region around the 1960s have now, through dedicated rewilding initiatives and natural recolonization, expanded their territories.

Throughout this five-day expedition, our journey goes beyond exploration; it’s a gateway into the extraordinary social lives of wolves and Marsican Brown Bears. Follow their trails through the Park’s winding paths and valleys, engaging in enchanting evening hikes. Your accommodations in boutique hotels and private mountain huts promise comfort amidst the wilderness.

Uncover the pivotal roles played by these apex predators, showcasing their remarkable adaptability to the Italian terrain. Gain insights into the historically complex yet steadily improving relationship between these magnificent creatures and us, humans. Join us on this transformative experience, where nature’s narrative unfolds, and every step reveals a deeper connection to the wild.
